Dubuque, IA – Abby Finkenauer’s campaign today released the third television ad of the general election, titled “Caller ID.” The ad will begin airing Tuesday, September 4th in the Cedar Rapids market. This follows the release of the second ad, “Tom,” which will continue to air alongside “Caller ID.”
“Politicians in Washington are sleeping on the job when it comes to creating opportunities for hard-working families in Iowa,” said Abby Finkenauer. “We need leaders who want to do more to increase wages and opportunities for working people, instead of stacking the deck for corporations and special interests.”
As the general election ramps up, IA-01 is widely regarded as a key US House battleground and considered a ‘Toss-Up’ by multiple political observers. Excitement and momentum for the campaign continue to grow, with Finkenauer more than doubling Rod Blum’s fundraising total for the second quarter and outraising the incumbent four reporting periods in a row.
A transcript of the ad can be found below:
“Growing up, we learned the Union Rep’s name because when it showed up on caller ID, the other end of the line was dad’s next job. For too many Iowans today, the phone’s not ringing. I’m running for Congress because Washington isn’t doing enough for hard-working Iowans who need more opportunities, like investing in apprenticeships and skills training — so when opportunity calls, they can answer. I’m Abby Finkenauer, that’s why I approve this message.”
