DUBUQUE – Abby Finkenauer raised $152,000 in the third quarter of 2017, bringing her total raised to over $300,000 since launching her campaign in May.
The Finkenauer campaign is fueled by grassroots support with over 1,300 individual contributions—a majority of them coming from Iowa. The median contribution to Finkenauer’s campaign is just $50.
Abby Finkenauer’s broad base of support stands in stark contrast to Rod Blum’s PAC-focused fundraising. Last quarter, 99% of Blum’s fundraising came from PACs or donors who gave more than $200. In comparison, 75% of Finkenauer’s contributions were $100 or less.
“I’m in this race for one reason – my home, our state, and our country are worth fighting for and 2018 is make or break for my friends, family, and neighbors who are continually being targeted by out of touch, GOP establishment politicians like Rod Blum,” said Finkenauer. “I’m proud to have raised over $300,000 in my race to take on Rod Blum – and to finally hold him accountable for trading the needs of working families for the demands of Wall Street.”
In the third quarter, Finkenauer raised more money than all of her primary opponents combined, while scoring an impressive list of endorsements along the way. Major unions including AFSCME Council 61, the Ironworkers, Laborers, Sheet Metal Workers, Teamsters, and the United Steel Workers are now standing with Abby’s campaign. Finkenauer also received the endorsement of NARAL.
Last quarter, Finkenauer raised $156,000 and was endorsed by EMILY’s List, Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 125 and Dubuque Building & Construction Trades.
